CHAVERIM COL YISRAEL HELP
THE PEOPLE OF GUSH KATIF TO REBUID THEIR LIVES
Gush Katif is likely to be evacuated this summer. While people are split on whether this should, or should not, happen, everybody agrees that this is a personal tragedy for over 7,000 Jews. This is the biggest upheaval for a Jewish community since the Soviet and Ethiopian Jewry campaigns for which worldwide Jewry united in support. In few places in Eretz Yisrael can the miracle of turning desert into pasture be demonstrated as positively as in Gush Katif. The people of Gush Katif have lived the Jewish ideal, building schools, yeshivot, homes and successful businesses as well as a flourishing Jewish community. In the aftermath of disengagement, this community will be torn apart, families and friends scattered across Israel, the lifetime work of these people destroyed. We now have an opportunity to unite across all ideologies to assist this
Jewish community in rebuilding their lives after the disengagement. We can
offer the people of Gush Katif hope in the
face of tragedy and once again demonstrate the outstanding chesed
(kindness) of world Jewry to our brothers and sisters who are in need. None of the money raised will go towards political causes either pre or post disengagement[1]. All the funds raised will be allocated towards projects to facilitate the re-establishment of these Israelis into economically viable jobs, community frameworks and the like. We urge you to be generous and show your support NOW so that the Jewish community of Gush Katif will suffer no longer than necessary after disengagement. We the undersigned fully support this initiative: Rabbi Riskin
Rabbi Brovender
Rabbi Schrader Rabbi Blau
Rabbi Reich Rabbi
Fink Thank you for your donation. Please make checks / charity checks payable to: The Central Fund of Israel; and post to: Gush Katif Campaign, Yeshivat HaMivtar, PO Box 1037, Efrat 90435. [1]
In the event that disengagement does not take place, the money raised in
this campaign will be allocated towards projects to enable the people of
Gush Katif to return their lives to normal after this major upheaval.
